James Marzo's own apartment is a unique blend of the sophisticated and the primitive, the formal and the casual, the antique and the modern combined in a relaxed setting. "I'm delighted by unexpected combinations - bringing together seemingly disparate objects to establish an exciting yet harmonious whole. Juxtaposing contrasting styles creates a wonderful artistic tension which can bring out the best of each piece and produces the most dynamic results," says Marzo. "Marzo describes his work as would an artist or a musician, describing the concept of space, including the negative space surrounding the objects he places. He speaks of the rhythm and harmony of elements. His designs, though meticulously orchestrated, have a comfortable fresh feeling that his clients enjoy."
