This turn-of-the-century elegant English Tudor-style house is located on outer Broadway, San Francisco’s finest block, and was the former home of famed attorney Melvin Belli. In the Dining Room, the color palette was inspired by the terra cotta color of the Palace of Fine Arts and the misty blue of San Francisco Bay. A 17th century wooden Thai Buddha presides over the room providing a sense of calm and tranquility. Other fine antiques include an 18th century Japanese lacquered cabinet, a 17th century Belgian tapestry and a RĂ©gence gilt wood mirror. Marzo created the English Regency-style armchairs for this room. For an unusual twist, the walls were papered with 80-grit 3M sandpaper made from crushed garnets.
